License Terms
These terms are the license for Notchy for Windows ("Notchy"). When you buy Notchy on notchyforwindows.com, Polar (polar.sh) sells it to you as merchant of record under Polar's Buyer Terms, and these terms set what you may do with the app. If you got Notchy from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft's Standard Application License Terms and its refund policy apply instead, and the parts below about license keys and refunds do not.
What one purchase gets you
- A personal license to use Notchy, with one license key that activates on up to three PCs at a time. To move it to another PC, free a device in your Polar portal.
- Every update within version 1 (1.x) at no extra cost. A later major version may be sold separately.
- Notchy keeps working offline once it is activated. It checks the key with Polar about once a week, and a check that fails because of network trouble never locks you out.
What you may not do
- Share, sell, publish or give away your license key, or activate it for other people.
- Remove, bypass or tamper with the license check, or redistribute the installer or the app.
- Reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right anyway.
Refunds
All sales are final: Notchy has no refunds. The exceptions are a refund the law where you live requires, and one Polar grants as the seller under its own terms, such as for a duplicate charge. A refunded or charged-back purchase revokes its key, and the web copy locks at its next check.
What Notchy depends on
Notchy shows data that Anthropic and OpenAI provide for their own tools: Claude usage through an undocumented endpoint, and Codex limits from the logs Codex writes on your PC. Neither company supports this use, and either can change or remove it at any time. When that happens, Notchy may show less, show an error, or stop showing some numbers until an update adapts, and we cannot promise that it will. Notchy is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI or Apple, and their names belong to them.
No warranty, and limits
Notchy is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. It is a monitor, so do not rely on it as your only safeguard for spending, quotas or security prompts. To the extent the law allows, the total liability of riecodes for anything to do with Notchy is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Ending the license
If you break these terms, your license ends and your key may be revoked. You can stop at any time: uninstalling Notchy removes the hooks it added and its settings.
Changes, law and contact
If these terms change, the new version is posted on this page with a new date, and it applies from that date. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without taking away the consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
